Digital Sounds

The sounds created by the digital modes can be very confusing to the newcomer to the digimodes. Indeed it can take an experienced operator to distinguish between some of the MFSK and Olivia modes, all of which sound similar to the untrained ear.

The British Amateur Radio Teledata Group (BARTG) recognised this some time ago and have helpfully produced a series of mp3 files  of most of the digimode sounds.  These may be downloaded from their site and used help you understand what the different digital modes sound like. You may be surprised at just how many digimodes there are.
