Courses

In the UK courses are run locally by Clubs and Societies. Anyone interested in pursuing a course should contact the Club of their choice for registration details, dates and course fees etc.

A website was launched last year to help candidates pass their Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced examinations. The Hamtests site allows users to practice for their exams by taking a mock exam. The site is to be used as a learning aid, not as a replacement for face-to-face training.

Another site for those considering taking the full Licence may be found here. This is QADV and well worth a visit.

Not all Clubs or Societies have the facilities to run courses so if you are unsure about which ones run training courses in your area, please contact your National Society as they will be able to provide help and guidance in this matter.

Those who live in the Republic of Ireland should contact Comreg or the IRTS for details of amateur radio courses. The examination syllabus has been revised and the changes took effect from 1 January 2011. Details of the new syllabus may be found here.
