Mention Ham Radio to anyone these days and most people’s minds will turn to that infamous 1960 Tony Hancock sketch, “The Radio Ham.”  This classic episode sees Hancock as a ham radio enthusiast who receives a mayday call from a ship in distress but keeps getting distracted just before he can take down its position. However if the truth be known, ham radio is a sophisticated, scientific  space age hobby which is a far cry from that portrayed by Tony in his sketch.

Amateur radio is all about experimentation, learning and the art of communication as you will discover when you explore this site.
